After completing record-breaking move from Dortmund, Aubameyang made his debut for Arsenal and certainly its been a debut to remember for a long long time
Aubameyang was named in the starting line-up against Everton at Emirates Stadium on 3 February, 2018. The start came up as surprise for many Arsenal supporters as he was expected to be benched due to illness.
Aubameyang looked threatening right from the commencing whistle, running the defence with his pace. In the first half, Aubameyang had an high working rate as well as played essential role to give Arsenal ‘the prefect’ start. Pierre looked sharp and kept defenders at their feet in the final third.
Yet, in the second half Arsenal fans didn’t got ‘the glimpse they expected of Aubameyang’ after that kind of first half. Everton rolled the ball comfortably and Arsenal weren’t looking as intensive running to regain possession. Aubameyang got little under his belt in the second half, but will surely be happy with the way he and the team performed.
The match made in heaven – Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are reunited and loads of goals can be expected from this duo.
Mkhitaryan gave a through ball to Aubameyang, yes he was a bit off but ref got it wrong as Aubameyang scored his first goal for Arsenal. Aubameyang footed the ball home quite impressively as high things can be expected from Pierre.
Many insisted Wenger to deploy two strikers upfront, and Arsene may soon try implementing playing Lacazette upfront with Aubameyang. Together Aubameyang and Lacazette will not only give pace to the side but also provide that ‘proper finishing’ as well as Arsenal will look more of a threat going forward.
Arsenal will now face Tottenham next weekend.
