Arsenal defender Julio Pleguezuelo, who recently made his Arsenal debut against Blackpool in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, doesn’t look like getting regular minutes at Arsenal especially after the talents Unai Emery has at his disposal in Rob Holding, Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

The 21-years-old centre back want to extend his stay in England, though admits having offers from Spain in recent months as the Spaniard eyes return back home.

“I’m waiting to see how everything develops,” he told Spanish magazine Marca.

“I have to talk to my representative.

“My goal is to stay at Arsenal.

“I would like to continue and, if it is not here in England – I have offers in Spain.

“But at the moment it’s not my idea to go back.”

Pleguezuelo insists he is enjoying the competition with the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis and Rob Holding, and believes he will be up for a fight  and would prove himself when given a chance.

“There is always a lot of competition, they are experienced players who have a lot of quality,” Pleguezuelo added.

“I do not see them as enemies, just the opposite.

“For my part, what I will do is continue to give the coach reasons to select me and when he does, be prepared.”
