30-year-old attacker wants to extend Arsenal stay by signing a fresh three-year contract

Trossard-Arsenal

As per sources in Belgium, Arsenal star Leandro Trossard is now focused on extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium amid links to Saudi Arabia.

The 30-year-old has helped Mikel Arteta’s side bear the loss of Martin Ødegaard. Since arriving from Brighton in January 2023, the versatile attacker has contributed with 22 goals and 14 assists in 92 games.

He is a reliable attacker who can operate in various roles upfront and has proved to be a monstrous impact player when used as a substitute. However, fans were shocked to know that their prized asset was a serious target for Al-Ittihad last summer.

The Middle Eastern club offered a deadline day £25 million deal for the Belgian star. The Gunners straightaway rejected this bid, and it is said that they can make a fresh approach in the region of £40m in January.

But Trossard has other plans, and any potential move now looks off the table as the winger wants to continue his stay at Arsenal. As per sources, Trossard wants to sign a new three-year contract and extend his current deal, which runs until 2025.

This will also elevate his weekly earnings into six figures. The player intends to continue helping Arteta challenge for top honours in the upcoming years. Arsenal were targeting Mohammed Kudus as a potential replacement for the former Seagulls star.

But the attacker’s unwavering commitment towards the club means that they don’t need to worry about his exit anymore. Trossard celebrated his 30th birthday in Arsenal’s victory vs Manchester United this month.

The club might soon open talks with the player in order to ward off any potential suitors in January. His importance to the team can’t be measured by just a few games.

His numbers at the end of the season speak about the pivotal role he plays for the North London outfit.
