Arsenal have pulled new signing Matteo Guendouzi out of U19 European Championship which is due to start next week, so he can participate in Club’s pre-season matches.
France will kick start their tournament facing Ukraine on Tuesday. Matteo was initially part of French squad traveling for EURO U19, but Journalist Ph Ouggourni reports on Twitter that Arsenal won’t release him for it. The news was also confirmed by French outlet L’Equipiue.
À noter la présence de 3 joueurs surclassés en attaque (Gouiri, Pintor, Adli). Lafont et Guendouzi, qui faisaient partie des deux premiers stages, n’ont pas été libérés par leur nouveau club.

Finland will host the tournament between 16th and 29th July, that would potentially mean Guendouzi would miss out almost of Pre-season (depending on ‘How far’ France goes).
Representing your country is something everyone dreams about, but going for national duty would give Matteo a hard time at Arsenal. It would just disrupt the way he settles in with the squad.
But as he stays with Arsenal, he will have an opportunity to interact with fans and gel into the squad, at the same time getting used to Emery’s way of football. It will be an opportunity to secure his place in the squad at least for Europa League and League Cup fixtures.
Arsenal supporters would be hoping for a genuine look at their latest recruit, as the Gunners face Boreham Wood on Saturday.
