This summer Lucas Perez of Arsenal Football Club was expected to leave with the search of regular football hoping to go and play a part for Spain’s squad for 2018 World Cup.
The North Londoners are keen to get rid of the 28 years old who have been reportedly put a 13.4 million price tag on him.
Deportivo La Coruna – where he piled his trade before moving to London and Turkish side Fenerbahce have both been linked with move for the winger.
The Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has confirmed his interest in Perez. However the good news for English fans be he could be staying in the Premier League with newly promoted Newcastle united.
“I like the player because I have good friends in A Coruna,” Benitez said following Newcastle’s 2-0 win over Hellas Verona.
“I know that he did really well. He’s come here and not played in many games, but I like the player.
“We know what we need and will try to do it until the end of the transfer window.
“We are now trying to work in different directions at the time.”
It is believed Newcastle are keen to sign Perez on a season-long loan but Arsenal want him to leave the Emirates for good.
Speaking last month about his future, Perez said: “I want to leave to play and be happy.
“Last year I barely had any opportunities and when I had them I took advantage of them and this season is clearly going to be more of the same.
“I want to fight to go to the national team. I want to play football, but for that I have to leave.
“I cannot continue this way. I have given everything, but that has not been reciprocated, so I can’t stand it any longer. I feel cheated
