Arsenal are looking to exercise their financial muscle in the upcoming transfer market as their search for adequate cover for the injured Bukayo Saka intensifies. RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa’s presence at the Emirates Stadium on Friday to watch their 1-0 win over Ipswich just adds further fuel to the fire, with Now Arsenal reporting that the club are exploring ways of signing him.

Nineteen-year-old Nusa joined Leipzig from Club Brugge in summer 2024 and has made an instant impact with his new club. In 28 games across competitions so far, the Norwegian has scored four goals and provided eight assists. A right-footed player by nature, he can play on either wing and also has great athletic ability as he stands at six foot tall.

Nusa was signed to replace Barcelona-bound Dani Olmo in the summer, and has also filled the Spaniard’s boots effectively with his performances. The player was also extremely close to signing for Brentford in the summer, with the Bees agreeing a fee of €33 million plus €4 million in bonuses for the player, before pulling out of the deal due to underlying medical concerns.

How can Arsenal lure Nusa away from Leipzig?

The Gunners have a squad filled with young, talented and exciting players who are earmarked to be the next big things in the sport. Being part of such a group would undoubtedly excite several players from across the globe, with Mikel Arteta hoping Antonio Nusa can be one of them.

Arsenal are also home to Norway captain Martin Odegaard, who also captains his club team. Being of the same nationality as Nusa, Odegaard could play the role of middleman and help the Gunners secure the teenager’s signature. Despite being just 19, he has made a mark for himself in international as well as club football and would be an invaluable asset for Arsenal should he decide to join.

He can invert or play as a natural winger on either the left or right side, and Arteta will look to make a substantial bid for his target.
