According to Inter Live, Arsenal are ready to offer an attractive proposal to sign Inter Milan centre-back Yann Bisseck in January.
The 23-year-old has attracted a lot of interest after helping the Italian giants win the Serie A last season. The Gooners witnessed a successful summer transfer window as they brought four new additions to their squad.
They have already started planning for potential reinforcements in January, with Arteta personally involved in handpicking his targets. Inter’s Bisseck is on his wishlist, and we expect to see some development in these rumours.
Who is Inter Milan star Yann Bisseck?
The German came through FC Köln’s academy and spent years on loan without much success. He then moved to Danish first-division club Aarhus Gymnastikforening, where he enjoyed two decent seasons before taking a big leap to Serie A giants Inter last year.
He signed for €7 million (£5m), add-ons excluded, penning a deal until 2028. Bisseck made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Nerazzurri, helping them win the Scudetto in the 2023/24 season.

The 23-year-old added steel and energy to former manager Simone Inzaghi’s defense. However, he has fallen down the pecking order under new boss Thiago Motta this season. He made his last appearance against Genoa in the Italian league, his handball giving the opposition a chance to score the equaliser.

He might move in search of regular minutes, and Arsenal are right there waiting to exploit the situation. As per Inter Live, Arteta is the one driving this move and is impressed by Bisseck’s defensive skill sets.
The German U21 international is a colossal figure at the back, standing at 1.96 m. He is dominant in the air, wins the majority of his ground duels, and stays on his feet while making tackles. All crucial skills for a centre-back to sustain at the back.
He possesses remarkable speed and glides across the pitch, giving vintage Yaya Toure vibes. He likes to move forward, and his powerful ball-carrying ability is second to none. Additionally, he is comfortable in possession and press-resistant, which makes him less error-prone. Football scout Jacek Kulig likened him to former Real Madrid star Raphael Varane, as he said:
“Large, consistent, and physically strong player who feels very comfortable in contact situations. Able to play as a defensive midfielder if needed thanks to his vision, ability to read the game, and tactical awareness.”
He is one of the best young defenders in the Serie A. Inter fans will be aware of his remarkable talents, as he displayed a man of the match performance against Lecce and Bologna last season.
Although he is not a finished product yet, working under Arteta will help him upgrade his moves. The manager can make good use of his versatility and shift his ahead in midfield when needed.
WILL ARSENAL BE ABLE TO SIGN BISSECK IN JANUARY?
Inter Live claims that Arsenal are ready to offer €25m (£21m) for Bisseck in January. However, it won’t be enough to convince his parent club to sell him.
It is also said that Takehiro Tomiyasu can be used as a makeweight in this deal. The Japanese have been linked with the Italian outfit before. The fullback has been suffering from injury issues since pre-season, and the Gooners are willing to offload him.
Jakob Kiwior can also be used in a player plus cash deal. The Polish ace is far behind Gabriel Maghalaes and William Saliba in the defensive order. He has also been linked with Inter in the past.
While signing for Inter, Bisseck revealed that he idolises Thierry Henry. Speaking to FCInter1908, he said:
“Thierry Henry is my idol. He was an extraordinary footballer. I started as a striker, but over time, as I got taller and taller, the coaches moved me to the back.”
The centre-back admires Arsenal players, and a move to the Emirates would be too good to resist. However, the only issue will be a lack of game time. The 23-year-old will still be behind in Arteta’s defensive order, and hence he has to wait to get his chances.
