Former Watford star Troy Deeney has claimed that Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha is the best player at Molineux currently and is performing consistently this season amid Arsenal links.
The 25-year-old is in scintillating form as he scored 10 goals and provided four assists in just 19 games in the Premier League.
He inspired a 2-0 Boxing Day victory over Manchester United as he was the provider for both goals. He was so good that even United fans urged their club to sign him next year.

Wolves were struggling to build momentum earlier in the campaign, and although they haven’t been consistent, the Portuguese star is making a name for himself at the Molineux.
Deeney named Cunha in his team of the week on BBC Sport for the second week in a row. He openly praised the Wolves ace, calling him their best player by ‘a country mile.’

He said:
“Back-to-back weeks, he’s my number 10. Wolves’ best player by a country mile, he scored past a very poor Manchester United team – but we all know that anyway. If you score from a corner, you’re getting in the team of the week.”
WILL ARSENAL GO AFTER CUNHA THIS JANUARY?
The striker has been linked with elite English outfits such as Liverpool, Arsenal, and Man United this season, as per TBR’s Graeme Bailey.
However, these clubs are yet to launch a move or even start talks with his parent club. The £63 million-rated star and his camp have made it very clear that they won’t be forcing a move this January.
Even after such interest, the club is relaxed since they aren’t worried about a potential switch next month. In fact, they will try to open talks with their prized asset whose contract is set to expire in 2027.
It’s difficult for Arsenal to get a deal done before next summer, but things might change as the season progresses. Wolves are struggling to get past the relegation zone in the PL this season.
But if they fail to avoid relegation, then Cunha could set his sights on progressing his career and move to a club that plays regular Champions League football.
The Portuguese star’s versatility is a huge plus for the Gooners. He can play on both wings, as a striker, and even behind the center forward. Mikel Arteta’s side needs such a quality player who can turn the games in their favour.
